Its been a while since I posted on here but hope to keep up to date now as I am more settled in the journey I am taking.
This summer I  took my first real collection of work to the Edinburgh Festival and had the most amazing 2 weeks at the 3d fair at St Johns, around me other artists who will be lifelong friends as we shared our days in the best summer iv known for many years.
I am now actively  looking for new places to sell my work through and will list my outlets as I do so.

Next project is a big vintage wedding show in Glasgow in November as I am designing the jewellery for this  I will keep you updated on my progress with this as I use this fantastic opportunity to create some extravagant designs.

nostalgia birds

I have been working on a new project called Nostalgia birds.. they are made with lots of processes but on this example I have bit of favourite dresses and  my Granny's old lace and some fabric my mother had.

I am going to be selling these on Etsy and various other places and thought that I could take orders for specially made ones too.. They would make a great christening present if someone gave me some bits and pieces like lace and certain fabrics from Granny and other special people in the family I can add these into the birds creating not just a lovely hanging bird for the nursery but a bird of textile memories!!!.The other ideas could be for a bride with something old something new ( the bird) something borrowed (maybe a box to put it in?) and something blue.. plenty of blue fabrics.. A present for Granny using up little scraps of fabrics that she has stashed and doesnt want to throw away... The list of ideas is endless and  I AM open to ideas.. however these birds take a full day to make, so they will  cost from £30 upwards.. leave me a message if you want to know more...

Newburgh's creative side....

I was over in Newburgh recently delivering some samples and business cards for my workshops to the very helpful, talented, creative and lovely Laura and Peter Beaven who opened Twist Fibre Craft Studio in 2003. I was introduced to the shop a couple of years ago by some very good friends and the shop has  been supplying my students and myself with  fabulous wools and textiles ever since. Many times my students have turned up at classes with enormous brown bags full of wool saying that they just couldn't help it, as the amazing colours and textures come out of their goody bags other student drool over the contents and are helpless to the lure of a trip over to Newburgh..... unless you've been to the shop you just wont understand!!!. Laura and Peter have worked hard to give not just the shop a great name but both of them and the staff that work there fire you up with passion about textiles because they love them so much themselves, they are more than happy to give advise and if you love textiles then you will love these photographs and no doubt you will be helpless and have no choice but to jump in the car and visit, be warned if you have anyone with you that you may be gone for some time!!

Tiffin

Now if after this you are feeling peckish, but your not rolling in money ( as you have probably spent it all on yourself in lovely Twist Fibre ) then pop up to the other end of town to Tiffin the food is great the prices are beyond reasonable and the young couple who have just taken over this wee place are lovely and will give you a warm welcome!  www.tiffintearoom.co.uk

The Sun Gallery

After you have eaten and feeling rather richer than you thought you would be as it didn't cost you a fortune.. you can head back down towards the town again and pop into the Sun Gallery and Nick will be happy to take some of your well earned cash and reward you with any of the following :- sculpture, ceramics, woodwork paintings or jewellery and great greetings cards too! An amazing array of talented artists work is here and Nick spends time getting to know all his artists so when you buy something you can get to know a little bit about the person that created it..Nick is an artist himself with a very impressive background so you can be confident that he knows what hes talking about when you ask for his advise..  www.sungallery.co.uk.

Kit & Caboodle

Down further at the other end of town is the most amazing little shop, and sadly I dint get any photographs of it.. but please try and visit if you can.. its called Kit and Caboodle.. and is owned by Lou Shaw who must in my mind be the most creative person ever because she has mixed old and new, vintage, retro, handmade, eco, and recycled together to create the most stunning little gift shop I have ever been in.... Kit and Caboodle, 29 high Street, Newburgh KY14 6AQ

Last of all here is The Steeple where I will be taking my workshops http://workshops.moraglloyds.com

Beautiful Collessie and Fife open Studios

I arrived in this fantastic little village in Fife to visit an old acquaintance and see her little studio. I remember her telling me about some 11 years ago. I was over in Fife on business and thought as I was only a few miles away and it was such a fabulous day I would go and see if she had been exaggerating and she had not.. in this group of pictures I made the little walk along a lovely path of wild flowers from the car park to her studio..

 Little thatched cottages
  a lovely little path
the Studio at the bottom of the hill
and... here it is! and I'm not joking when I say its fantastic inside!. I was treated to a coffee and she was busy selling her work. Marianna Lines has been producing  artwork onto textiles and paper( and now on placemats and coasters and bags!) of ancient stones using some very green techniques with plant dyes and other secret methods! She has been working in this field for many years,, Many of the images she is retrieving from ancient stones all around Scotland and further afield are in fact going to be the last real copies before they disappear altogether I think. Some of the stones out in the fields have little left of these amazing carvings. Her studio has these pictish hangings all around and it really is such a magical little spot. I have even been offered a bed for the night when I'm over in Newburgh teaching workshops.. what a treat!
Marianna Lines  website is www.stoneline.co.uk

The fields are a riot of yellow all around

What a treat.. I haven't had a day off in ages and I loved every moment of it.
